We won't know until they're done questioning him, but if there was a third key, or if she may have been expecting company that wasn't him, it doesn't rule out the possibility of a third party.
... In fact, the entire motive is rather lacking right now, for my taste. Was there even anything he could gain from killing her? Having a key does not automatically unlock a box of guilt, ja?
