All right, all right, I'm sorry. I won't tell anyone, okay? [Not that she needs to. It's a wee bit too obvious.
Anyway, as to why Edgeworth's hobby is so embarrassing, Kay isn't sure but she'd better not push it since he's upset already. Maybe she should make it up to him somehow?
.......Or you can give me the cash for it right now and I'll buy it for you! [She won't use the money for her own use, seriously - she just wants to help you out!]
[Because enjoyment of children's shows is unbecoming of a grown man... never mind that it's a children's show with surprising talent behind it produced by a studio with a long history in the samurai genre.]
Thank you. [That tone was more like "you'd better not tell."]
Wh-what's with the glaring and staring? I said I'd buy the thing, right?
[Oh wait, it must have been the joke.] C'mon, Mr. Edgeworth! I told you - the Yatagarasu only has her eyes on the truth! [And so far, she's kept that promise! D:]
(It is, I suppose, necessary for me to grow better at trusting others who seek the truth. Furthermore, this is a relatively low risk compared to the betrayals I've suffered at the hands of others I once thought I could trust.)
...Very well.
[Reluctantly, Edgeworth takes the cash he withdrew several days ago for this purchase out of his wallet and offers it to Kay.]
[And Kay takes and grins.] Don't worry, Mr. Edgeworth! I'll be back in a tic! [And with that, she gives a thumbs up before scurrying in the direction of the shop.]
[Edgeworth remembers almost too late that he needs to specify what he was intending to buy, opens his mouth to speak... but Kay is already gone. If he shouted now, he'd give himself away (again).]
(I wonder whether she remembers which item she caught me inspecting red-handed...)
[While Kay vaguely remembers the section Edgeworth was standing by, she could not exactly remember which figure she saw him looking at.
So, she buys both of them - one with Edgeworth's money and the other with her own. Oh, well. She'll have to do a few extra chores for her mother's cousin who looks after her if she wants to save up for that snowglobe.
And in about ten minutes, Kay returns with a bag containing two boxes of action figures.] Hey, Mr. Edgeworth! Look what I've found!
I couldn't remember which one you wanted so I got two of them. I didn't steal them, I promise! [Check the receipt in the bag if you don't believe her.]
[That? That was almost a smile. Edgeworth does check both the boxes and the receipt... only to dig out most of the remainder of his cash on hand to offer to Kay.]
I suppose I'll simply have to lower myself to public transportation in order to return home, as well as find some use for the duplicate of the older figure.
Wait, I have a better idea! Instead of giving me all that change, you can do something else for me! How about we go to my place and have a Jammin' Ninja and Steel Samurai marathon?
[Sigh.] You aren't going to abandon that notion, are you? If we must do such a thing, at the very least can we do it in my own apartment, where no one else will notice?
